the diet starts tomorrow!

Honestly, it does! I tried losing weight a few weeks ago but there is only one thing more depressing than dieting and that is dieting while everyone else is in holiday mode! Oh, and I'm going out with a bang. Beef in ale, horseradish mash, tarte au citron, lovely wine. And a giant bag of revels. Shhh, don't tell sweet Dawn.

Dave goes back to work tomorrow after six weeks' holiday. I know! Thank the Lord that he works at a school! Gosh, I don't know what I will do without him. Really, I don't.

Dan decided to start potty training at the weekend (check out the hilarious pic of him sitting on his potty outside the library). Great, except that it means leaving the room to take him to the potty. In a normal family, that wouldn't be a problem but in ours it means trying to prevent Mikey leaving the only space he's safe in and it means I must take Jemima with me because my little lion, out of absolute adoration, may seriously hurt Jemima if he's left alone with her.

"OK", I thought, "we'll make this work". Until this morning I saw Mikey was covered in spots. Hello Chicken Pox. Goodbye returning to school on Friday! Bets are on for how long it takes Dan and Mima to pock-up too.

My sweet little boy is so cool with it though! He was incredible when he saw the nurse (normally something that creates stress for us both and tears and tantrums for him and sometimes me!) and even managed to indicate bits of his body when I was explaining and signing that she wanted to look at his chest and back. Honestly, he's a hero!

Just not sure how we'll work our way through the next few days. I'm trying to rely on prayer rather than booze.

Oh, and just in case you're interested, I've posted a link to a video of our Bible time on play on the word. I'm only telling you because it's taken up my whole evening and I feel I need to justify the hours spent trying to work out how the heck I upload a video larger than a measly 2MB!!! Thank you YouTube!

I'm so glad you commented so that I could hop over and see you and your beautiful (spotty) babes!! Here's to hoping those spots leave as quickly as they came...
